For Students / Parents :

How do I know that the tutor will be a suitable match to my child's specific needs?
Other than the basic process of matching subjects, level and geographical location, TP also has a Tutor Filtering System and a Tutor Rating System in place. These systems largely ensure the tutor's proficiency in the relevant subjects, and his or her competency in teaching the subject effectively.

In addition, a final screening will be done by our professional consultants from TP before we make a recommendation to the client. This final human touch to the system is to identify and cater to any special needs of the student.

Also, feel free to let us know if you want to interview the tutor yourself to determine the tutor's suitability.

How does the Tutor Filtering System work?
The Tutor Filtering System allows us to filter qualified tutors systematically. Listed below are the basic criteria for teaching different levels.

Primary 1 ~ 2 GCE 'O' levels
Primary 3 ~ 6 GCE 'O' levels B4 for English, Mathematics and Science

OR

ANY Bachelors
Secondary 1 ~ 2 GCE 'O' levels A2 (or GCE 'A' levels C) for teaching subject

OR

Secondary 3 ~ 5 GCE 'O' levels A1 (or GCE 'A' levels B) for teaching subject

OR

Undergraduate studies relevant to teaching subject
JC 1 / 2 / Centralised Institution Students GCE 'A' levels A for teaching subject

This is only a guideline to give recognition to tutors with an adequate grasp of the teaching subjects. Other than academic grades, other academic achievements, education history and professional experience will also be taken into consideration.

Are the tutors' credentials verified?
At TP, we verify tutors' credentials by requesting certified true copies of their educational certificates. Tutors' qualifications will be verified before they are allowed to conduct any lessons.

In addition, it is mandatory for each tutor to bring along relevant documents for their first lesson. Hence, you are able to verify his or her qualifications personally.

How does the group format for tuition work?
TP consultants view group tuition as an excellent way to receive quality private tuition at affordable prices. Students interested in receiving group tuition can either make a request with a study group ready, or simply approach us to form a study group for you. You may do so through the Find a Tutor form, indicating your interest for group tuition.

What are the tuition rates?
This is our recommended hourly tuition rates table for an individual being tutored in a single subject.

Lower Primary (Pri 1 ~ 2) $ 15
Upper Primary (Pri 3 ~ 6) $ 18
Lower Secondary (Sec 1 ~ 2) $ 20
Upper Secondary (GCE 'N' / 'O' Levels) $ 25
Junior College (H2) $ 30

The rates listed serve only as a reference for both clients and tutors. Rates can vary according to experience and location of tutors and other factors.

TP strives to provide the most suitable tutor as per the client's requirements, while catering to the budget concerns of our client. We will negotiate with the tentatively assigned tutor and client to establish a rate agreeable to both parties before the confirmation of the assignment.

What is the Client Satisfactory Survey and how does it affect me as a tutor?
The Client Satisfaction Survey is a formal survey that will be conducted by TP staff 6 to 8 weeks after the commencement of the assignment.

This survey serves as a formal record of client feedback regarding your ability as a tutor. While this survey is not the sole indicator of your abilities, it does affect your chances of receiving future assignments

Is there any penalty for terminating an assignment?
Within the first term of an assignment, any termination initiated by you without valid reason will result in all fees being retained as administrative fees and commissions. Your rating with TP will also be affected.

However, if you have a valid reason acceptable by both the client and TP, you may receive part of the tuition fees subject to TP's sole discretion.

Can I increase my chances of getting an assignment?
After registering with us, you are strongly encouraged to arrange an interview with our education consultants. Click here to arrange an interview.

You should also provide as much information about yourself as possible in your profile and present relevant documents for us to verify your qualifications.

An interviewed tutor with verified qualifications and an informative profile available for clients to review will definitely stand a higher chance of getting an assignment.

I think I deserve a higher rating. What can I do?
You should first review our Tutor Rating System carefully. If you want to have a breakdown of your rating or your rating reviewed, feel free to email us at contact@tp.com.sg.
